the girl > web history
I started doing webdesign when I was 11 years old! Back then, it was horrible...I would be on the computer 7 or 8
hours straight! It all started because I was really into Final Fantasy so I went online and started visiting
Final Fantasy fansites. I remember finding finalsummit.net (no longer exists) and thought "oh wow, this is a really
cool site!" So, since then I always wanted to have my very own Final Fantasy fansite. My sister at the time was already
doing webdesign, and she had her own website and asked me if I wanted my own...so...at age 11 I got my first website
and it was called hopewithinwords.net...I don't even remember it's purpose. Haha. I don't think I ever used it...
I mean, come on, I was eleven. Lol. Anyways, later on me and my sister decided we would buy a domain and
attempt at making our very own Final Fantasy fansite. And so, finalescay.com was born! I remember making
a layout...and that's about it. Haha. The whole "Final Fantasy fansite" never happened. I was like, 12 or 13 so of course
I was really lazy and I didn't feel like actually writing any coverage on the games. Sooo...the idea of having a FF fansite
ended, and I just turned FinalEscay.com into a personal site. Now this is when my whole "interest in actual webdesign"
started to appear. So yeah, FE.com did pretty well...but then I ended getting another domain name, this time called
keptsecrets.org. Let me just say, I am very thankful for KeptSecrets.org (and FE.com!!) because this is when
I actually started to learn "new things" and I made lots of cool friends. I was always the 12-13 year old girl talking
to a bunch of 15 and 16 year olds...(hey, now I'm one of the 16 year olds...lol...) and yeah, so KS.org did very well,
far better than FE.com did. Um, but yeah...stuff happened and I lost interest in webdesign and I just -literally- let
KS.org die...I think a couple months later I bought yet another domain name called emerald-sky.net
but I never even used it! (Waste of moneyyy. Yes, i know.) While I did not have my own domain name, I didn't stop
"web designing". I owned and maintained my Freya Crescent shrine that
Renee told me she would host for me. I made it back in July 2006 when I was just 13 years old. It wasn't until June 2008
that I decided I wanted to "come back to life", lol, and so here I am again with my 5th domain name, twilightrose.org!
I'm very different on how I "maintain" my sites now...now, I don't look for hits or anything like that, I just keep
running this site because I love web design. :)
